North DuPage Special Education Cooperative

Vocational training at NDSEC combines functional skills, real world experience, and student planning to help the student realize potential and gain the necessary skills to succeed after exit from high school. NDSEC partners with local businesses, families, and community organizations to maximize independence. Instruction and experiences are based on the individual needs of the student and include, but are not limited to:

• Job Shadowing and Observation
• Working at Vocational Training Sites
• Long-Term Placement for Paid and Unpaid Student Workers
• Interviewing and Conversational Skills
• Job Seeking Skills
• Career Exploration and Development
• Development of Resume and Portfolio
• Secondary Education and Linkages to Career Organizations (COD / DRS)
